What is a Color Blast?
This is a fun event for all GHS, JLMS, KES and WES students, staff and families. Join us in coming together to kick off the start of summer and celebrate the end of the school year! Our Color Blast is a non-timed/non-competitive, approximately 1 mile run or walk event. New this year is that the path will go around John Long and Woodview. Participants will follow a marked route through the start, “color stations” and finish line area, which leads you to the final color throw. A color station is a designated area where event staff will blast you with a colored powder! Color stations are placed along the course. The color is non-toxic, biodegradable powder and does not harm you, your kids or the environment.
A Color Throw is the main attraction of our Color Blast and happens at the event. All participants gather in the field by school and toss color packets in the air. This creates a mass cloud of different colors and covers you with blue, green, yellow and orange.
